Bondi to Coogee

DSC_0766

Finally some decent weather which meant… FINALLY I was getting to go to Bondi. As I mentioned in a previous post, Suzanne had banned me from going without her. However, we both went and had a brilliant day.

Getting to Bondi

Getting to there isn’t hard, we got the train from Kings Cross to Bondi Junction and then a bus to Bondi Beach from the station. With the Opal card, it only costs a few dollars each way, which is very reasonable – I’m talking about $3 each way.

Bondi Beach

The world famous Bondi Beach. I’ll not lie, it was smaller than I expected it to be but regardless, still a lovely beach. It was a pretty windy day and the waves were huge – the biggest waves I’ve ever seen anyway. There is plenty to do, even in winter when its too cold to sunbathe. From the variety of shops and restaurants along the road to working out at the outdoor gym or even just relaxing and watching people surf. I’m looking forward to going back in the summer and maybe having another shot of surfing.

Bondi – Coogee Coastal Walk

Another thing to do is the scenic coastal walk to Coogee. It takes about 2 hours to complete – the whole way has a path and it is a relatively easy walk. A few sections have an incline but they aren’t too bad. The majority of the walk is right on the coast, either up on the cliffs and looking out to the sea or down walking across gorgeous beaches. With the wind, the waves were crazy the whole way along and watching them crash into the the rocks was amazing. If you have the time to do it, I would highly recommend doing the coastal walk.

Thanks for reading!
