Carn Aosda, Carn a’Gheoidh and The Cairnwell

After years of writing on the blog, the time has come for the final post. Running the website has become too expensive. I’ll continue my adventures on social media though! I made it a good one to finish on and done the Cairnwell Three of Carn Aosda, Carn a’Gheoidh and The Cairnwell. A cracking day out and nothing too strenuous!

Ben Challum

Ben Challum (Callum’s peak) is one of the Mamlorn Hills, a group of mountains surrounding Glen Lochay. It’s been a few months since I done my annual “fitness check” on Ben A’an and I can safely say that since then, my ‘fitness’ has taken another nose dive and needs some hard work! Buachaille Etive Beag

Another week, another couple of Munros in the bag. I felt as though I hadn’t been in Glencoe for some time so I set my sights on Buachaille Etive Beag, the smaller brother of my favourite mountain; Buachaille Etive Mor. It was another Wednesday with the sun shining and I can definitely say I made the most of it. A thoroughly enjoyable climb with some spectacular views over Glen Etive, Glencoe and down to Rannoch Moor.

Meall Ghaordaidh

Another Munro in the bag! This time, it was Meall Ghaordaidh (possibly meaning rounded hill of the shoulder; arm or hand) which is one of the Munros in the Mamlorn Hills. The starting point is at Duncroisk in Glen Lochay, near Killin.
