Trying To Find A Job In Australia

Trying To Find A Job In Australia

I’ve been in Australia for 2 months now and I’m nowhere near employed yet. I never thought trying to find a job in Australia would be so difficult. Except from the fails at farm work and the occasional interview, I’ve heard absolutely nothing back.

Job Searching

I’ve been using a variety of different job searching techniques. Between SEEK, Facebook Groups, The Harvest Trail, Jora Local and handing out CV’s. I can’t believe that I haven’t actually heard much back. I’ve even tried posting on Instagram and chancing my luck there… nothing. Its not like I’m being picky either, I’ve been applying to all sorts of jobs and in a variety of different locations around Queensland. Its quite hard to keep a positive outlook, I’ve barely done anything adventurous in a while cause I’m trying to save my money. It must be even worse for Suzanne, she has the money there but doesn’t want to do it herself. When I (hopefully) finally get a job, I’ll be going on plenty of daft excursions!

What Else Have I Been Doing?

Except from applying to every job that doesn’t require a degree or any extra certificates, I’ve been mostly sitting in the hostel working on the web-design of Alzos Adventures. I’m starting to get the hang of it, let me know what you think in the comments section! Suzanne has been going to the South Bank Beach too, occasionally I’ll go and sit in at the food court area and work on my blog or apply for more jobs. It is literally all I’ve been doing… so boring!

Its reached the point that I’m thinking of other daft ideas to keep me occupied, so far I’ve came up with the idea of writing a book. I’ve got a slight plot all mapped out in my brain with characters and the lot, just need to start it lol. I’ll no give too much away but I’m thinking the title could be ‘Hoaliday’ – yes, with the ‘a’ in it.

I realize this post isn’t much but it’ll give you an insight to what I’ve been up to lately and why I haven’t been posting much.
Thanks for reading!

  2. Don’t give up the right job will come up at the right time. I was speaking to a guy who’s daughter and son in law have been in brisbane for years and he said the opportunity’s are so much better there than here. Keep your chin up it will happen.
