2 weeks have flown by. I’ve not really been doing much, trying to find a job and enjoying everything Sydney has to offer.
I spent a day at the Taronga Zoo in North Sydney. It only takes 12 minutes or so to take the ferry from Circular Quay. Despite the fact a few of the enclosures weren’t open due to renovations, it was a great wee day out. Tickets are $42.30 when bought online which isn’t the worst. There is a variety of different animals to be seen, even a sea lion show which was pretty good. I must have spent at least 3 or 4 hours wandering round the zoo, trying to see every animal.
Royal Botanic Gardens
Last week I also got some bad news from home. So I spent that day walking around the Royal Botanic Gardens, taking pictures and listening to my music trying to escape from reality and go into my own little world. It was a pretty tough day but walking around and taking in the scenery helped a little. I’m not usually one to appreciate flowers and that but it was peaceful. There is such a variety of plant life to be seen and plenty of stunning views of the city skyline and the Sydney Opera House.
Trying To Find A Job
The rest of my time was spent trying to find a job. To work in construction you need a white card, to serve alcohol you need the RSA certificate… They all cost extra money but they are ideal to have. I started my online application for my white card but you need the PPE and to video yourself putting it on and how to adjust it. I’ll get that part done sometime soon. Luckily I found an app called Found and managed to bag myself a couple of interviews for the week coming. Hopefully by next week I will have a job, maybe meaningless but it will give me some money to play around with to travel.
I said in my last post that I was going to focus on my blog and try update it – that never happened. After receiving the bad news it kind of threw me off but I have a feeling that this week is going to be a productive one. I’m going to try my best to get the blog organised. If you missed it… check out Week 1!
